Offshore wind farms have a major problem with corrosion of the steel structures. The problem is that the corrosion mitigation methods tend to have a significant impact on the environment. The purpose of this research was to quantify the environmental impact of cathodic protection attached to offshore wind structures to prevent corrosion.<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Different corrosion mitigation methods were evaluated, supported by a literature study. The study substantiated the expected negative impact of the traditional methods on the marine environment. It became clear that from the perspective of the environment, a fully effective coating system which would work without the need for additional cathodic protection would be preferable.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
